Carbatina Roman and Celtic Leather Footwear in Brown

Historical Roman and Celtic footwear crafted from natural leather, made from a single piece that gradually adapts to the foot with wear. The gathered toe shapes the leather into the distinctive pleated front typical of carbatinas, one of the oldest forms of footwear in Europe.

The closure is formed by leather laces that wrap around the foot and ankle, allowing a simple yet secure fit. Without rigid seams or forced structures, the shoe moves freely with the body, almost like a second skin.

Its shape reflects models documented in Celtic contexts and the northern Iberian Peninsula, widely used in historical reenactment and medieval fairs.

Handcrafted in Yutecrea’s workshops, where the leather is cut, folded and tied following traditional methods passed down through generations.
